Most people don't realize this but summertime is a great time of year to land your dream job. People are relaxing by the pool, taking their iced coffee breaks outside and taking vacations to the beach. If you are looking to move up from your current position or find a better job, it may be tempting to stop your job search for the summer, but I suggest that the summertime is a great opportunity to land yourself the best possible job.
In the summer, more company’s interview for positions left unfilled during a busy spring quarter and hiring managers may have more time to sit down with you for informal interviews. In a nut shell, you may have less competition and more of an edge to land the job you want. How cool is that!
Your job search doesn't mean you can't have a great summer. In fact, I suggest that a great way to find your dream job is to attend pool parties and outdoor barbeques to meet and talk to people -- one of them may just know of a job lead for you!
So go ahead, enjoy your summer and land your dream job!
